GAME REVIEW

  • There are six chapters in this game, and two Modes: Relaxed and Adventure.

  • In Relaxed Mode you can play without the constraints of a timer. Take your time and find all the objects at your own pace.

  • You will not get penalized for random clicking in this mode, but points will be taken off your final score when you do so.

  • For people who like the challenge of playing against the clock, you can choose to play the Adventure Mode in the game.

  • In this mode you will have 45 minutes to finish a chapter. There is no timer in this Mode when it comes to the courtroom sessions. Incorrect clicks will make you lose time off your clock.

GENERAL TIPS

  • You have unlimited hints in the game, but you have to wait for them to recharge before you can use them again.

  • The hints take a long time to recharge, so make sure that you use them wisely.

  • At the end of every two chapters you will be taken to a courtroom scene in which you need to defend your client with the evidence you’ve collected throughout that chapter.

  • If you do not choose the right answers in the courtroom sessions, you will be asked to go back to the evidence room.

  • When you see that cursor changes into a hand, it means that you can open or close a cabinet in the scene. You can also open or close curtains and turn on and off a light switch in a scene.

  • Some items can be blocked from your view when you open a cabinet, so make sure that you close the cabinets in order to access all the items in the scene.

FLASHLIGHT, MAGNIFYING GLASS & UV LIGHT

Defenders of Law

  • In certain scenes, you will need to use an ultraviolet light or the magnifying glass to pick up items.

  • You will use the magnifying glass in the areas in which you see a sparkle. Grab the magnifying glass and place it on the sparkly area; the game will automatically zoom into the area in which that item is located.

  • When you get into that area, just click on the item and it will be taken off your list.

  • The flashlight will be used in scenes where the room is dark. Usually the flashlight will turn itself on in the dark areas. You can also activate the flashlight in some rooms by closing the curtains or turning off a light switch in the scene.

  • You can only use the ultraviolet light when the room is dark. The ultraviolet light will help you find items that are marked in blue on the list.

  • The items in blue on the list require the special tools to pick them up. Find a way to turn off the lights when the blue items show up on your list, before you begin searching for them.

THE TOWN OF WILLBURG MAP

Defenders of Law

  • You can view the Town of Willburg from the main map. You can only access the buildings that are not locked.

  • Clicking on a building on the map will bring up the floor plan for that building, and it will show you all the areas that are available to search for each location.

  • Clicking on the Achievement Case icon in the upper right corner will allow you to review past evidence properly presented in court.

  • The Gears icon in the lower left corner will return you to the main menu.

FLOOR PLAN MAPS

Defenders of Law

  • These maps will show rooms available to search.

  • A green check indicates that the room has been completed, and a padlock indicates it is not yet available to search.

  • The Map icon in the lower right corner will return you to the Town of Willburg map.

  • The Gears icon in the lower left corner will return you to the main menu.

WILLBURG’S CRIME LAB

Defenders of Law

  • Here is where you will analyze the collected evidence. A variety of tools are at your disposal; a lab technician can direct you to the proper method of analysis.

  • The objects selected for analysis are placed upon the evidence board.

  • The scientist is there to help you. Show her an object; she’ll tell you how to process it.

  • If she says that you need to send an object for analysis, drag it to the corresponding lab icon on the desk.

  • You can also drag an item over to the analysis tools at the bottom of the screen without showing it to the scientist.

  • If one of the analysis tools starts glowing, then drop it there for analysis. Once the item is done being analyzed, a report will come out of the printer and will be on your screen. Click on the page to proceed with the game.

THE COURTROOM

Defenders of Law

  • Here is where you will defend your client.

  • Select the correct objections based on the evidence to sway the jury and tip the scales of Justice in your client's favor.

  • Select the incorrect response, and the judge will send you back to review the evidence.

  • Use the arrow button by the scales to advance the dialogue.
